Lava 2017

Last weekend we took the family on a quick weekend getaway to Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. It's a place I've gone since I was a kid and we occasionally like to go back and enjoy some quiet time. This layout is just one quick layout I did with a picture of me and my kids.

Little Baby Lexi

There are times when certain scrap kits just call to me...this was the case when I saw Connie Prince's Baby Love.

My little sister had a baby in January, so I had a few pictures to choose from when I did this layout. I found one that would showcase my kids who got a picture with their new cousin and a couple with me.

In Winter

I know, I know. I was just getting into scrapping the warmer weather, since I'm so excited for it. But then I took a glance at what Connie Prince was soon retiring and when I saw the kit, I HAD to scrap with it. Thankfully, I have a daughter who enjoys winter....she definitely didn't get it from me.

Now that I've got that out of my system, perhaps I can keep my focus on warm weather layouts. Especially cause we're supposed to get some snow in a few places in the state. What's up with that?!?!!

Little White Dress

My niece was recently blessed and after my sister posted a few pictures to Instagram, it occured to me that we should make a collage of sorts of all of us who had worn the dress. (Pretty much all the girls in the family).

I was super excited about this idea, until my little sister mentioned that there were no pictures of her in the dress. (Super sad, I know) I knew there was a picture of me in the dress, but was unsure if my older sister had one of her. I also think my older sister lost any pictures she had of her daughter in the dress as she lost a hard drive with all of her pictures on it. (Another super sad story).

I decided to just focus on me and my girls in the end. And if it weren't for my mother in law, I wouldn't have a great picture of Shaylyn. The pictures I have from Shaylyn's blessing are all cropped in funny ways in her scrapbook. It was a great idea at the time, but it doesn't work so great for digital layouts...Anway, here's the result:

Sister Potato Head

Wanted to get back to scrapping for fun and to get a start on catching up. I literally opened the first picture folder on my computer - January 2009, and chose a couple pictures that jumped out to me in that folder.

It's nice to look back at some of these pictures and do something with them. This wasn't anything new or something no one's ever done before - but it was a first for Shaylyn.

Pool Side

I tried to get back into scrapping things just for my benefit. That's how this next layout came about.

With all this winter weather, I long to get back to warm days and I could really use a vacation. So I decided to scrap a page about part of our vacation last summer.

Siblings And Friends

I'm nursing a cold today and felt like instead of sleeping the day away (which is hard to do with a 3 and 1 year old around, anyway) I'd make good use of my time.

I only got one layout done, but that's okay. I did SOMETHING of value.

I should also note that I got some help with this layout from my husband. He is a programmer and does a lot of website design work, so he has an eye for things. I gotta say, I'm glad I asked his input because I like how it turned out with his help, as opposed to how it looked in the beginning.

The pictures in this layout were taken at my grandma's 90th birthday party about 8 years ago. In an effort to distinguish families, each family had a certain color - ours was red. That is the reason we are all sporting red in the pictures.

This Is Us

There are perks to being a member of a creative team. This year at the end of the year, for our Holiday/Christmas gift we got a number of goodies from many of the designers at Gingerscraps. Most of which are things that have yet to be released.

One of the kits included was one from North Meets South Studios called This Is Us. I fell in love with the kit instantly and went to work.
