Road Trip Selfie

I was super excited when Trixie of Trixie Scraps released Summer Road Trip. We had recently just returned from a small vacation and I had pictures that would be great to use with it. I really enjoyed working with this kit and creating this layout.

My oldest daughter is 14 and is all about taking selfies. She is an artistic soul and because the sun was shining so well, she wanted to get a selfie that had a cool effect in it. So she took multiple selfies and I started photobombing them to be annoying. She didn't get annoyed, she turned the tables on me and decided we should take pictures together.

Back To School

It's that time of year again...the kids all head back to school. And all of us moms take the first day of school pictures and some of us use cute little signage. Up until this year I never did the sign thing. Pretty much because I'm a procrastinator and I always hate when school starts up again.

This year I decided I'd be on top of things (and considering that we are in the middle of selling our house and life is pretty much choas right now, that's saying something). It was also interesting that I got this done because my 7th grader got to go to school on a Friday to get familiar with the school, lunch time routine, locker, etc. without the 8th and 9th graders there. So I had to have this done even without having a weekend (Sunday Night) to prepare...

I could've just printed out one of the many available signs already out there, but I wanted something more. I went with the chalkboard look cause I'm pretty much in love with it right now and I also added a little something to the end that describes each child at this moment in their life.

If one of these works for your child, feel free to right click and save for your own kiddos. One of these days I might rework these and leave them with just the year on them....Maybe.

We start with 1st Grade:

Then it's 3rd Grade.

The middle school comes next with 7th and 9th:

Finally, High School with 11th grade:

Happy Back To School Day!

1st Time Camper

SimpleGirlScraps needed layouts for $2 Tuesday again, this time one of the kits was Campout and I knew I had plenty of pictures to choose from.

I finally chose pictures from kiddo #6's first camping trip. He kind of liked it.

Sister

I know, I know...I need to get more creative with titles. Someday it'll happen...someday.

SimpleGirlScraps needed some layouts to go along with one of the $2 Tuesday sales that happen at Gingerscraps. Because I'm new to her team, I haven't had a chance to play with most of her kits - so I jumped at the opportunity. (Besides, I needed a break from all things related to moving)

It only took me a few minutes while looking at the kit: Enjoy The Moment to realize where I was going to go with it. About a week previously, the kids and I had taken a day out to be with cousins and Grandma, at a place that's special to us. I made sure to get pics with my little sister. My shirt matched beautifully with the kit and I love being with my little sister cause we get GREAT pictures.

Keep in mind we had a 14 year old using the camera and a 12 year old playing with the phone.
